Privacy policy

The short version
DartPick doesn’t collect your personal information. Everything you add — names, pictures, where you pin them and your settings — is stored only on your device. There are no accounts and no analytics.
DartPick shows ads, supplied by Google AdSense, and that is how it stays free. Google receives technical information such as your IP address in order to show them. Ads are not based on what you do on this device unless you agree to that, and your names, pictures and boards are never used for ads and never leave your device.
Who we are
DartPick is made by Ryan Faraone, an independent developer based in Australia. You can reach us at hello@dartpick.app.
What stays on your device
- The names and pictures you add, and where you pin them on the board.
- Your settings, such as sound on or off and the board’s arrangement.
This is kept in your browser’s storage (localStorage and IndexedDB). It is never sent to us or anyone else. It’s removed when you choose Your data → Delete everything, clear this site’s data in your browser, or uninstall the app.
What leaves your device
- Loading the website. When your browser loads DartPick, our hosting provider, GitHub Pages (run by GitHub, Inc. in the United States), receives technical details such as your IP address and browser type so it can deliver the site and keep it secure. See GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
- Emails you send us. We use them only to reply to you, and delete them once they’re no longer needed or when you ask.
- Ads. Ads are supplied by Google AdSense (Google LLC and its affiliates). To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google receives your IP address, details about your browser and device, and information about the ads you’re shown and interact with. Google and its ad partners may also store and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device. We don’t receive any of this ourselves, and we never send Google — or anyone else — the names, pictures or boards you create. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and My Ad Center, where you can control the ads Google shows you and request a copy of the data Google holds about you.
Your choice about ads
There are two kinds of ads: personalised ones, chosen using what you do on this device, and plain ones, which ignore it. DartPick asks for plain ads unless you tell us otherwise, and it asks you once, the first time you visit.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — and in some US states — Google shows its own certified consent form instead, because the law there requires it. In that case your answer goes to Google’s form rather than ours.
You can change your mind at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of any page. Plain ads still use cookies for things like limiting how often an ad is repeated.
Your choices and rights
- See or download your data: open Your data → Download my data for a file with everything DartPick has stored on your device.
- Delete your data: Your data → Delete everything removes it from your device straight away, including your ad choice.
- Ad data held by Google: we can’t access it, so requests for a copy or for deletion go to Google through My Ad Center and Google Takeout.
- Ask us anything: email hello@dartpick.app. We’ll reply within 30 days. Because we don’t hold personal information about you on our side, most requests are about data on your device, which you control directly.
Children
DartPick is intended for people aged 13 and over. It isn’t designed for children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Security
DartPick is served only over HTTPS. Your data stays in your browser’s storage, so anyone who can use your device or browser profile can also see it.
International transfers
Our hosting provider, GitHub, and our ads provider, Google, are both based in the United States, so the technical details above are processed there under their own privacy commitments.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll post the new version here with a new date, and point out significant changes in the app.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us first at hello@dartpick.app. If you’re not satisfied, you can voice your concerns to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or, if you live in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
